Chimney Inspection in Anaheim

Use inspection to connect the homeowner concern to the actual installation. Ask for the examined areas, limitations and prioritized findings in writing.

  • A fireplace you have not used before
  • A past report with unresolved findings
  • Changes in the way the fireplace behaves

Is a chimney inspection the same as a sweep?

No. Inspection evaluates condition within an agreed scope. Sweeping removes deposits. The two may be appropriate together, but one does not automatically replace the other.

A COMPLIMENTARY STARTING POINT FOR NEW CUSTOMERS

Free Chimney Inspection & Professional Report for New Customers

New customers can request a free chimney inspection with a leak check and drone-assisted exterior images when safe and permitted. You receive a professional written photo report explaining the findings, limits of visibility and recommended next steps.

Same-day inspection appointments available, Sunday to Friday.

What the free inspection for new customers includes

  • Firebox, damper and smoke chamber checked from inside
  • Drone-assisted images of the cap, crown and exterior chimney when flight is safe and permitted
  • Professional written report with labeled photos, findings, limitations and recommended next steps
  • Leak check: crown, cap, flashing and signs of water in the firebox or on the ceiling

Not included

  • Formal Level 2 camera scan and report (separate service)
  • Sweeping or cleaning
  • Repairs or roof work that requires a lift

The free inspection is for new customers. Drone imagery depends on safe access, weather, airspace rules and site conditions. We note any limitations in the report. Additional services have a separate written scope and price before work begins.

A mark on the ceiling, an unfamiliar smell, or a question after buying a home can each be a reason to look more closely. Inspection and cleaning answer different questions. An inspection considers condition; a sweep addresses deposits. The appropriate scope depends on the system, its history, and the reason for the visit.

01

Bring the history into the picture

Existing inspection reports, appliance information, previous repairs, and your description of the concern help frame an assessment. A short timeline is often more useful than guessing at a diagnosis.

02

Understand the scope

Ask which areas will be examined, which are accessible, and how findings will be recorded. The scope should be clear before the visit; an inspection is not the same as approving repair work.

03

Leave with a next step

The useful outcome is an understandable account of what was observed, what remains uncertain, and whether maintenance, more investigation, or repair should follow.

04

Document what can be seen

For new customers, the free inspection documents visible, safely accessible conditions and, when safe and permitted, drone images of the exterior chimney. We explain what each image shows and note areas that could not be reached or seen. A formal Level 2 camera scan is a separate, quoted service.

05

Match the visit to your reason for calling

Tell us if the request follows a property purchase, a long period without use, a proposed appliance change, a leak, or an earlier repair recommendation. Those circumstances help frame the information needed. If a transaction or another party requires a particular inspection level or report format, share the requirement before booking so its scope can be confirmed rather than assumed from the word inspection.

06

Read the findings before choosing work

A useful report separates observed conditions from limitations and recommended next steps. Ask where each concern was found, which photographs support it, and whether additional access is needed to understand the extent. Keep appliance identification and prior reports with the new findings. If repair is recommended, request an explanation connecting the proposed work to the documented condition before deciding on a project.

01Is a chimney inspection the same as a sweep?

No. Inspection evaluates condition within an agreed scope. Sweeping removes deposits. The two may be appropriate together, but one does not automatically replace the other.

02What should I have ready?

Gather any previous reports, the fireplace or appliance model if available, and notes about the concern. Photographs from a safe position can help. Keep the fireplace cool and clear the immediate work area.

03Is camera inspection included in every appointment?

No. A formal Level 2 camera scan is a separate, quoted service. Tell Tier1 when booking if a property transaction or another party requires a particular inspection level or report format.

04Will a drone be used at my home?

Drone images are included when flight is safe, permitted and useful for the exterior chimney review. Weather, airspace restrictions and site conditions may prevent a flight; any limits will be noted in the report.

05Can you inspect a fireplace that has not been used for years?

Yes, describe its history and any available records when requesting inspection. Lack of recent use does not establish present condition. Keep the fireplace unused until the appropriate assessment and recommendations are understood.

06Does an inspection automatically include repairs?

Inspection establishes information; repair is a separate scope. Ask what is included in the visit and how additional work would be discussed. An appointment request does not authorize an open-ended repair.
