01How do I choose between inspection, cleaning, and repair?

Begin with the reason for the visit. Inspection considers condition, cleaning addresses deposits, and repair addresses a defined problem. You can describe your concern without knowing the exact service; the scope should be agreed before work is arranged.

02Which cities are included in the area directory?

The directory covers the Whittier–Long Beach corridor and Orange County, including Rancho Santa Margarita and San Clemente. Appointment coverage for a specific address and service will be confirmed directly when you contact Tier1.

03Can I receive a price from a photograph?

A photograph can help explain the concern, but it may not show the full condition, dimensions, or access. A final scope and price depend on the actual project. This website does not provide automatic repair estimates.

04What should I prepare before discussing a project?

Gather previous reports, any available fireplace or appliance information, and notes about what you have noticed. Include the city and any access arrangements. Photographs should be taken only from a safe, accessible position.

05How do I request an appointment?

Call (949) 602-7844 or email tier1chimneyrepair@gmail.com with your city, the service you need and a description of the issue. We reply within one business day. Online form delivery is not yet available. Tier1 confirms the appointment directly.

06What are your business hours?

Sunday–Thursday: 8 AM–8 PM. Friday: 8 AM–6 PM. Saturday: closed. All hours are Pacific Time.

07Do you offer emergency service?

Emergency service is available Sunday–Friday, subject to availability. Call to ask about the next available visit. Tier1 is closed Saturday, including emergency service. An email request is not a confirmed emergency response.

01Is a chimney inspection the same as a sweep?

No. Inspection evaluates condition within an agreed scope. Sweeping removes deposits. The two may be appropriate together, but one does not automatically replace the other.

02Does cleaning fix a chimney leak?

Cleaning and leak investigation serve different purposes. If you see staining or water entry, describe that separately so it can be considered as its own concern.

03Does visible damage always mean a complete rebuild?

No. A localized issue may allow a limited repair; more extensive deterioration can call for a larger scope. The condition must be assessed before choosing an approach.

04What is tuckpointing or repointing?

These terms are often used during discussions about mortar-joint work. Ask the provider to describe the actual method, area, and finish in the written scope rather than relying on the label alone.

05Will a chimney cap stop every leak?

No. A cap addresses the flue opening, while water can enter through other parts of the assembly or roof junction. The proposed solution should match the identified route of entry.

06Are a chimney cap and a chase cover the same?

No. A cap covers a flue opening. A chase cover is associated with the top of a framed chimney enclosure. The actual system determines which component is relevant.

07Does a cracked crown always need replacement?

The extent of damage and the condition of the existing work need to be assessed. Ask for the reason behind a repair or replacement recommendation.

08Can any replacement panel be used in a fireplace?

The replacement needs to be suitable for the installed system. Share the model information and have the component identified before arranging the work.
